I finally received my wings!

The following poem was posted on the wall at the Oklahoma City bombing site by K.C. and Myke Kuzmic -- Stockton, CA

And God said....

I said, "God, I hurt."
And God said, I know."
I said, "God, I cry a lot."
And God said, "That is why I gave you tears."
I said, "God, I am so depressed."
That is why I gave you Sunshine."
I said, "God, life is so hard."
And God said, "That is why I gave you loved ones."
I said, "God, my loved one died."
And God said, "So did mine."
I said, "God, it such a loss."
And God said, "I saw my son nailed to a cross."
I said, "God, but your loved one lives."
And God said, "So does yours."
I said, "God, where are they now?"
And God said, "Mine is on My right and yours is in the Light."
I said, "God, it hurts."
And God said, "I know."

The following story was given to me by Janessa after her
Sunday school class on Mother's Day, 2000.

         Your Angel

Once upon a time, there was a child ready to be born.  One day she asked God:  "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"  God said, "among the many angels, I chose one especially for you.  She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."  "But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything but sing and smile...that's enough for me."  "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you everyday.  And you will feel your angel's love and be happy."  "And how am I going to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that men talk?"  "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."  And what am I going to do when I want to talk with you?"  "Your angel will place your hands together and teach you how to pray."  "I've heard on earth that there are bad men.  Who will protect me?"  "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking her life."  "But, I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."  "Your angel will always talk to me about you and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you."  At that moment, there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly:   "Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.  "Your angel's name is of no importance... you will simply call her MOMMY."

This poem was read at Janessa's funeral by Stace Campbell.
(Thanks Stace!)

I’ll lend you for a little time
A child of mine, He said,
For you to love while she lives, and
Mourn when she is dead.
It may be six or seven years,
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call her back,
Take care of her for me?
She’ll bring her charms to gladden
You, and shall her stay be brief,
 You’ll have her lovely memories
As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down
There I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked the wide world over
In search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd
Life’s lane, I have elected you.
Now will you give her all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call
To take her back again?
I fancied that I heard them say,
Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joy thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we’ll run.
We’ll shelter her with tenderness,
We’ll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known,
Will ever-grateful stay.
But shall the angels call for her
Much sooner than we planned,
We’ll brace the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand.

The following poem was given to me by my co-workers at the
Boys & Girls Club along with a picture they took of her 4
days before she died. She looks like she's looking up to Heaven.

(Thanks Eric, Don, Chris, MaLynda and all the other staff
at the Boys & Girls Club of Magic Valley!)

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
-- Robert Frost

Think about this one...

The Guarantee

There is no guarantee in this life…
Of what there is to come.
We all must be different
Each and every one.
Not all of us will have a big house,
Some may have no home at all.
Not all of us will drive a nice car
Some may ride a bike, ride a bus, or even walk.
Not all of us will have good health and a working body,
Some may have to struggle or even die young.
Not all of us will have success,
But what is the measure of success?
Not all of us will win the lottery or make a lot of money,
Some may work harder than others and never have a penny.
Not all of us will  know what love is,
Some may have bitter hearts or hearts that went un-noticed.
Not all of us will have fame  or good looks,
Some may never have the choice.
There is only one guarantee in this life
And that is Jesus Christ.
We will all die,
Each and every one ,
But surely you would want all the above.
Success, Love, Fame, & Fortune,
And you will have all up in Heaven.
The guarantee is that all will die,
not just one or a few,
You and him and her and yes, me too.
So, when I die
I will surely wake to see the Lord’s beauty.
I will have succeeded to Heaven and dine with the King.
Now, what famous person have you seen do that?
I will be surrounded by love  and streets of gold.
Won’t you join me in this guarantee?
Just ask Jesus into your heart,
And he will sign your name in his famous book of love.
So that you may have everything you ever dreamed of ,
Waiting up above...
